The DT Division of Cultural Heritage has created a range of the finest image capture systems that replace scanners and low-end cameras for preservation-grade imaging which exceeds METAMORFOZE and FADGI guidelines, and workflow software for JHOVE-compliant standards-based output. But hardware and software don’t capture cultural heritage materials – people do.

We have invested heavily to assemble the most knowledgeable service, support and training team in the Cultural Heritage industry. With this team we cannot only determine and deliver the best equipment for your needs, we can provide customization of the hardware and software to perfectly integrate the solution into existing workflows.

Delivery of the equipment is the beginning of our partnership, not the end. From operator training services to technician certification programs we work hard to make sure our customers get the most out of their investment in us.

We begin our process with a needs assessment to determine what type of solution will be appropriate for your digitization projects. We will review your current digitization hardware including any flatbed scanners or planetary scanners in your workflow, and review your current workflow including metadata. Then we’ll discuss your goals, needs, and obstacles. How large are the reflective objects you need to digitize? Do you have transmissive objects like photographic negatives you need to capture? What about glass plate negatives? Do you need to capture books into digital book objects? Together we will come up with a strategy that will address those needs – and stay within your budget.

System Integration

Once your customized solution has been approved, we will personally install and configure all the equipment including the system, cameras, digital backs, lenses, accessories and computers. We will make sure that our systems integrate optimally with your current equipment and that everything is operating properly. We will train your staff on how to use the systems for cultural heritage digitization and help set up an efficient workflow. We will be there for you every step of the way so that after installation is complete your staff will be comfortable to begin digitizing your collections immediately..

Specialty Services

We have long-standing experience in color management including ICC profile generation, process control, digital asset management, metadata compliance, as well as fine art digitization. We also offer a variety of image quality kits, process control test targets (both object level targets and device level targets) and software with extended service plans that are easy to use and adhere to the most rigid image quality standards. During installation we can provide a variety of strategies and tools that will optimize your solution and productivity.

FADGI Compliance

Our systems consistently exceed FADGI 4-star performance levels for image quality as specified by the Federal Agencies Digitization Guidelines Initiative (FADGI).
